Kajak-Sport Oval hatch rims. These ABS plastic rims are for building your own kayak or replacement for broken rims.
Kayak brands that use Kajak-Sport hatches include: P&H, TideRace, CD, Eddyline, NDK (except the day hatch which uses a Valley kayak rim), Tahe, Rebel, Zegul, Rockpool, and late model fiberglass WS Tempest Pro (not roto-molded Tempests).
The KS Oval series hatch rims are available in two sizes. Generally narrow kayaks will use the 44cm/26cm (or 440mm/260mm) Oval rim, and wider kayaks will use the 42cm/30 (or 420mm/300mm. Note these dimensions are the inside opening of the rim, which is not very useful but it is the way the manufacturer names each of the sizes.
Tip: Whenever a rubber hatch cover is difficult to open or close, wipe a little 303 Protectant on the inside lip of the lid and the outside rim of the hatch on the kayak. This will make it much easier to open and close which will protect your kayak from cracking. Also about twice a year it is good to smear 303 on the outside of the cover as a UV block to extend the life of the lid.
